Fellow believers we just celebrated Thanksgiving where we expressed thanks for the many many blessings that God has given. We now enter into the time of year for giving. I have a question for you -is it really a time for giving or are you waiting for someone to give to you? Tell your loved ones not to get you anything this year, instead find someone that has a need and help meet that need with the money that they were going to spend on you? We have really lost sight on the reason for this season. What better way to celebrate Him than through your sacrafically giving and living. Wouldn't it be awesome to see someone come to know the love of Christ through your act of kindness.
I was sitting and watching CCN Heroes, and it was sad to see people being recognized as heroes for showing acts of kindness toward people in need. I know you're wondering what is wrong with that, but what I mean is.........It is not that they did not deserve recognition. It is the fact that many of them did what we (believers) should be doing anyway (feed the hungry, help the sick and shut-in, visitied those in prison.......Matthew 25:34-46). The saddest part was that out of all that were labeled heroes, only one acknowledged GOD as her source. She recognized that she was merly the vessel God was using to help his people. Although the others did not directly mention God as their source, their acts demonstrated the behaviours God expects from his people. They saw needs and met them. They did not throw it to somone else. They gave sacraficially their time and money, etc.... to help those that had a serious need.

Attitude of Gratitude
Psalm 107:1-3
O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy; and gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west,
from the north, and from the south.
Thanksgiving Day is a time we've set aside for expressing thanks for many, many things. Everyday should be a day of thanks.
Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus to you-ward.
The next time you start murmuring and complaining about anything; stop for a second and think of all the things you should be thankful for.
Be Thankful!
I am thankful for:
God's Unconditional Love - I think of the times when God reminded me of His undying and unconditional love toward me. He reminded that I must do likewise......Thank you God!
Life - I think of how far God has brought me and how far I made it on my own. The two don't even compare. God has used each encounter in my life to show me how much I need Him......Thank you God!
Health - I think of the times when illness tried to and should have over taken me, but God healed me! ........Thank you God!
Strength- I think of the times when I felt I couldn't make it, but God supernaturally gave me the strength to go through, to stand, to smile even when I didn't feel like smiling, He showed me how to love when I could not do it on my own, etc...... Thank you God!
Family/Friends - I think of people that don't have anyone. God has bless me with many people in my life. Thank you God!
What are you thankful for?
Do you have an attitude of gratitude?

Thank You for the the Food
Ms L...... Amen to your "Food for Thought " comments...... I agree, we must be like Jesus. He came to serve not be served. He's the example we must follow.
